Progress on Disabled Parking in Bray

Progress on Disabled Parking in Bray

When Bernadette approached me looking for support to get the disabled parking bays in Bray repainted and a new space added outside Bray Primary Health Care Centre, I was glad to bring it to the council. It's exactly the kind of issue that doesn't always make headlines but makes a genuine difference to people's daily lives.

I'm pleased to say that work is already underway. The disabled bay outside Dunnes Stores on Quinsborough Road has been freshly painted, and two spaces on Killarney Road have also been completed. There are more spaces still to be done, and I'll continue to follow up to make sure the full job gets finished.

The addition of a space directly outside the Primary Health Care Centre is particularly welcome. Up until now, wheelchair users needing to access the centre had no dedicated parking nearby and were having to cross the Killarney Road to get there, not an easy or safe journey for everyone. Having a space right outside will make accessing healthcare significantly easier for disabled residents.

This came about because one person came forward and asked for help. If there's an access issue in your area that you think needs attention, please don't hesitate to get in touch, I'm always happy to hear from constituents and to raise issues with the council on your behalf.
