Representatives from Uisce Éireann met with Councillors today to discuss issues in the county. Here are some of my key takeaways:
We were also given a Bray North Beach update. In the Christmas holidays it was brought to my attention that there was a lot of raw sewage on Bray North Beach. This was due to a power outage at The Corke Abbey plant. The outage also effected the uninterrupted electricity supply, which meant that staff were not alerted to the issue. In response to this, Uisce Éireann have put in a back up emergency text alert to ensure that this does not happen again.
There was also some confusion about who was responsible for the sewage leak, as part of Bray falls within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Uisce Éireann representatives have reassured us that helpline staff are aware of this now and have a clear pathway for reporting issues.
